My portrait paintings do not always focus on the face; they tell the story of a woman, a place, and a time through a garment, an object, or a setting. At times, they hold onto a very specific figure, while at others, they depict an archetypal character representing an era—one defined by time and culture, carrying a familiar historical and social code. The playing girls are like a memory game that reveals itself as a game of forgetting: memory serves as a thread linking to the distant past, while forgetting enables the joy of deconstruction and reassembly in the present. "Feedback" (Hizon Hozer) is a series of works focusing on women who left an imprint on me following October 7th. Here too, some of the works are portraits of specific women, such as Avital Aljem and Kinneret Gat, while others are archetypal female figures engaged in acts of restoration and cleansing—both emotional and physical.
